What are the challenges in Zanzibar?

Zanzibar is a developing economy, a small island governed by Tanzania.

Because of cultural restrictions and traditions, women are given few opportunities to earn an income for their families and to become independent in their lives.

Empower Zanzibar is an organization whose goal is to address these challenges through its women empowerment programs.

Our mission is “to empower women, to create a world without poverty and hunger.”

Our Vision

To lift up the lives of disadvantaged Zanzibar women through teaching, vocational training, donations, and volunteer assistance, enabling a more independent existence.
